Greetings, hope all goes well.
As mentioned last week, we have come into that time between holidays which we call “Ordinary Time.” As I said before, this is by no means “ordinary” time. This is an opportunity to reflect and grow in light of the celebrations of the birth and the resurrection of the Lord.
I do believe that there is no “ordinary time” in the Kingdom of God. Anything we do, we do to build up this Kingdom here on earth. This is a Kingdom of peace and acceptance. And we need not look far to see that these two elements are sourly needed in our world today.
St. Thomas More, (1478-1535) was the Chancellor of England under Henry XIII. He disagreed with the king on several subjects that Thomas felt went against the teachings of the Church. Because of this he was martyred for the faith. He reminds us today, “No ordinary act we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest.”
The Kingdom of God is built one stone at a time. Every ack of kindness to another, every act of charity is another stone that goes into the building of the Kingdom.
Peace and All Good,
