Hello, happy Saturday! A day to do all we were unable to do during the week
The other day I wrote about how there are days we feel we are in an never ending darkness. It just seems that no matter what we do, we just cannot shake this dark funk we are in.
We try to engage with family and friends, but no matter how great a time we had still feel stuck in this funk.
In a book by Megen McKenna, called “Angel Unawares,” she quotes an old saying, which I found out to be a paraphrase from the Prophet Isaiah “Only those who walk in darkness ever see the stars.” ( Isaiah, 9:2)
Could it be that God is giving us this opportunity to see the stars that we have missed all our lives? Can this experience lead us to a deeper relationship with God? You know, many of the great saints had this experience in their lives. St. Teresa liken it to walking in the wilderness and every once in a while, she would come to an oasis where she would encounter the Lord in a deep and loving empress. The she said she would then start her journey through the wilderness until she came to another oasis.
Just something to think about when that darkness comes upon us, WE ARE NOT ALONE. Look up and see the stares and remember it is only in this darkness that God allows us to see His signature written in the stars.
